OI Awareness

Having a daughter with Osteogenesis Imperfecta has given us awareness of just how precious life is and how important it is to cherish each and every person in your life.  We want to thank everyone that has helped us out so much since December 23.  Our families, friends, and even complete strangers have provided us with so much love that we have never felt alone in our time of need.  We have received so much good will from so many people that we feel like we have to do our part to pay it forward.  One thing that we would like to do is bring OI awareness to the mainstream.  If your looking for a worthy cause to donate to, please consider donating to the OI Foundation or Shriner's Hospital.  These are two institutions that are helping us.  Another way we are trying to spread awareness is with OI awareness blue wristbands.  These wristbands are like the "Livestong" bands, but blue in color with "Unbreakable Spirit" imprinted.  These are available on the OI website (link to the right) under store.  I also have some available that I have purchased.  So if you want one let me know and if I have any left I can give you one.  There are also many other items on the website so please check it out!

Also, OI Awareness week is May 9th to the 15th and Wishbone day is May 6th.  Both will help in providing more positive awareness about OI.   Please click on the links below for more information about both causes.  Again thank you for all you have done for us and know that your thoughts, prayers and our daughters love helps us make it through each day!

Two Months

At times its hard to believe that two months have passed.  Our little girl continues to amaze us everyday.  With everything that she faces you can tell that she tries hard to accomplish what is put in front of her.  While people say that at three months a baby starts to develop their personalities, Zayana seems to already have a strong one of her own.  We know that she will need that and she will definitely use it as she does now.  Its amazing how a little being can keep you on your toes!!

Zayana is doing great!  We have been very fortunate with her health and have not had many issues.  She seems to be growing but as a slower pace than most newborns and is learning herself how to move her arms and legs.  To us, she is just a regular baby who needs a little extra care.  We wouldn't have her any other way!!

Thank you all for all of your prayers and well wishes.  It has truly helped us when times get tough.  Here are some recent shots of Z in a new outfit for her two month birthday that we would love to share with you.
